Bunmi George explains how family behaviours can be mistaken for generational curses

Pastor and wellness entrepreneur, Bunmi George, has explained that what people often describe as generational curses may sometimes be behavioural patterns passed down and repeated within families.

Speaking on The Shining Light Show, George said certain traits and behaviours can be inherited through upbringing, with children learning patterns from their parents and other family members and later repeating them in their own relationships.

She noted that behaviours exhibited by previous generations can become normalised within a family and continue from one generation to another, making them appear like a generational curse.

According to her, a grandmother’s dominant personality, relationship patterns or other behaviours could influence how her children and grandchildren conduct themselves, particularly when such traits are repeatedly modelled within the family.

George’s comments highlight the possibility that some challenges attributed to generational curses may instead be linked to learned behaviours and family patterns that are carried across generations.
